Albert Falco (1927-2012) was a renowned French scuba diver and undersea explorer. He was best known for his long association with the famous French explorer Jacques Cousteau and served as the chief diver and captain of the research vessel Calypso. Falco made numerous expeditions and discoveries, including the exploration of the sunken city of Alexandria and the discovery of Roman shipwrecks in the Mediterranean. He was also instrumental in the development of modern scuba diving techniques and equipment. In 2000, he was awarded the prestigious Legion of Honor by the French government in recognition of his contributions to marine science and exploration. Falco continued to dive well into his eighties and was a vocal advocate for marine conservation until his death in 2012.
